I’m a strong believer that great fashion always comes back around. In my twenties, I loved wearing animal print and forty years later, I still enjoy wearing it. My closet is full of animal print dresses, blouses, shoes, and coats.
Animal print is perfect for fall because of the dark, warm colors. I pulled a black and brown tiger print maxi dress from my closet that I purchased a couple of years ago at Chico’s. I accessorized with three of my wardrobe staples: a black belt, black boots, and a cropped black faux leather jacket. For some pizzazz, I chose these beautiful drop pearl earrings.
When I’m putting outfits together, I like to play with proportions. With this look, I went with a shorter jacket against a long dress, and I added a black belt to cinch my waist.
In my sixties, I’ve realized I can still wear the trendy styles that I loved when I was younger, but with a little more sophistication. I’m all about how clothes make you feel, and I feel confident in an eye-catching zebra, tiger, cheetah, or cow print. Sometimes it can be as simple as an accessory in animal print like a hat or a pair of gloves. I find when I add one bold accent to my outfit, it makes all the difference.
Fashion is always evolving, and I love holding on to pieces that I can revamp based on the latest trend. I hope this inspires you to pull out some animal prints and pair it with something that makes you feel confident and fierce.
