As we get ready for fall, this is the time to pull items from our closet that we can transition to a new season. Black and white is a staple everyone should have in their closet, and it’s the perfect color combination you can wear year-round. I pulled a black and white dress that I picked up a few years ago from Macy’s.
I love having pieces in my closet that are versatile, and you can do so much with a black and white dress. You can wear it to the office, brunch, church, or dinner.
When choosing a black and white look, I’m a fan of bold prints like the abstract design on this dress, but you can try animal print, polka dot, or even chevron.
As a woman in her sixties, I think about what will be the most flattering on my body. The A-line cut of this dress is perfect because it’s fitted at the waist and flares out at the hips, which helps to elongate your body. This style looks good on any body type and any age.
An easy way to switch up your outfit for a new season is to change your shoes. In early September when the weather is still warm, I wear block heel sandals. Once the weather gets cooler, I can throw on this same dress with a pair of black boots.
To keep my look clean and simple, I accessorized with an oversized black bag and silver hoop earrings, but you can add bold colors with your black and white to give it a little flair. For fall, I love accessories that are dark red, burnt orange, or mustard yellow.
Just remember, style is something we all have. Rock your black and white this fall, and don't be afraid to try something new and different!
